Yoga to Inspire Creativity
Each of the seven chapters in the Chakras for Creativity book has its own chakra-inspired yoga practice.
Root Chakra Yoga Practice
The Root Chakra Yoga Practice is grounding, gently energising, calming, nurturing, and induces a sense of peacefulness. It will help you to develop your creative focus and help you to feel supported in your creative endeavours.
The affirmations we use in the practice are The earth supports me and The earth nourishes me.
Sacral Chakra Yoga Practice
This is the go-to practice if you feel blocked and want to get your creative juices flowing again. It shifts blocked energy and enables you to go with the ebb and flow of life. It is a centring practice that connects you to your inner wisdom.
The affirmations we use in the practice are I trust myself and my inner wisdom guides me.
Solar Plexus Chakra Yoga Practice
You can use this sunny practice anytime you want to build up confidence, courage, and inner strength. It will connect you to your fiery, assertive self, while at the same time helping you get in touch with your loving heart. It is energizing, revitalizing, grounding, and creates stability. It’s the go-to yoga practice whenever you need to be nurtured and empowered.
The affirmations we use in the practice are My inner sun empowers me and I radiate love and light.
Heart Chakra Yoga Practice
This practice creates a sense of mental and physical equilibrium, gently opening the heart. It creates a sense of spaciousness, opening us up to receiving fresh inspiration. The practice also teaches you the nurturing skill of holding and healing your emotions at the heart centre, promoting the process of healing.
The affirmations we use in the practice are My spacious heart holds all and My loving heart heals all.
Communication Chakra Yoga Practice
This is the go-to practice when you feel creatively blocked and want to get your ideas flowing again. The practice is cleansing, calming, uplifting, and engenders a sense of emotional release. We use sound in the practice to encourage self-expression, and, in contrast, we use silence to encourage a receptive state of mind, open to receiving fresh inspiration.
The affirmation we use in the practice is, I speak my truth with love.
Third Eye Chakra Yoga Practice
This practice is energising, lightens your mood, unblocks stuck energy, and induces a sense of clarity. By balancing our focus on the third eye chakra, with a complimentary focus on the sacral chakra at the belly, we stay grounded, and avoid getting spaced-out.
The affirmation we use in the practice is, Love flows, light heals.
Crown Chakra Yoga Practice
The aim of the practice is to develop an awareness of the crown chakra, and we prepare the ground for this by firstly focussing on the lower chakras to ensure stability. In the first part of the practice, we use standing poses for grounding, and this creates a sense of a journeying up through the chakras. We visualise light imagery and use mantras to give the practice a meditative and devotional feel. The practice enables you to connect with your cosmic consciousness and unfold into the blissful state associated with the crown chakra.
The affirmation we use in the practice is, Love and light within, love and light without.
